ConcreteShield NS and DOI – Achieving a High-Gloss Polished Concrete Finish

Distinctness of Image (DOI) is the key metric for polished concrete quality – it measures how sharply and clearly the floor reflects objects. A high DOI means a mirror-like, premium finish. A low DOI means a dull, diffuse surface.

ConcreteShield NS plays a critical role in maximising DOI as the final treatment in a polished concrete system:

• Seals micro-pores – eliminates surface irregularities that scatter and diffuse light
• Enhances surface density – creates a harder, more uniform reflective layer
• Reduces surface contamination – stain resistance keeps the floor cleaner, maintaining DOI over time

How to Apply ConcreteShield NS

1. Ensure the surface is clean and dry.
2. For polished concrete: apply after the final polishing pass.
3. Apply ConcreteShield NS with a sprayer or roller.
4. Allow to penetrate for 10–15 minutes.
5. Wipe off any excess – no rinsing required.
